For example you can just ask Siri "Take me to the nearest McDonalds" and the navigation will begin on your cars display.

To install an update to your module, please first contact customer support to provide your device information, this is required as we need to correctly identify your exact module and current software version to provide the correct update.

Will I lose any original functions?
No you will not lose any original functions of your car, this is an additional interface that you can access alongside the existing system.
Your BMW system is completely preserved, and remains fully functional alongside the retrofit.
Is the CarPlay/Android Auto Wireless?
Yes the CarPlay and Android Auto functionality is wireless.
If you are using Android Auto please remember that only phones running Android 11 or higher support wireless connection.
Wired connection via USB is also supported.
Will my factory camera still show up when reversing?
Yes your factory reverse camera can still display when using CarPlay or Android Auto.
My car does not have a camera, can I add one?
Yes the retrofit enables you to connect aftermarket cameras which will display when reversing just like an OEM system.
There are two RCA inputs for connection of front and rear view cameras.
How do you control CarPlay without a touch screen?
The CarPlay/Android Auto retrofit is controlled in the same way you navigate your current system, with the original buttons and knobs.
You can use both your BMW iDrive controller and steering wheel scroll buttons to navigate and select items on the screen, in addition to voice commands via Siri/Google Assistant.
